Glossary of Educational Terms, Acronyms, and Lingo

The following is an alphabetical listing of terms, acronyms and lingo we hear in the world of academia. Words and phrases listed here may take on different meanings in different LEAs (Local Educational Agency) so please be certain to check with your peers and/or mentor to get a full understanding and appreciation for terms that may have a dual meaning. This list, while long, is NOT all encompassing. It does give you an idea that education has its own vocabulary and its own long list of acronyms that are part of the educator’s every day professional teaching and learning career.
